But for you who do not have any experience with the product, I will explain a little more.

Coral Calcium is a mineral supplement from coral that is harvested off the Islands of Okinawa, Japan.  Coral Calcium is the name for the bony structure of coral that has been replaced with new live coral.  The dead remains of the coral is washed off the reef and collects in shallow pockets far from the actual reef.

The above description is for the benefit of people who have heard that marine coral calcium somehow damages the live, living reef.  It does not!  The Japanese Govt regulates the harvesting of the raw material.

The other form of coral calcium that is used by most coral calcium suppliers is called “Fossilized” coral calcium.  This form is dug up from the islands and is called “Dirt” Coral by Bob Barefoot.

There is nothing wrong with this form except it is lacking in natural magnesium and void of most of the trace minerals and marine microbes.  It is just a lower and less quality form of coral calcium.
